Health and Safety
The safety of your children is a priority for us.
For this reason we will be implementing the following guidelines and actions.
- We will oversee keeping physical distance (6 feet apart) between personnel unless safety or core function of work activity requires shorter distance whereby personnel will wear an acceptable face covering.
- Tightly confined spaces will be occupied by only 1 individual at a time, unless all occupants are wearing face coverings. If occupied by more than 1 person, we will keep occupancy under 50% of maximum capacity.
- Classroom is used in various ways so maintaining physical distance is in different directions and why there are not markers.
- Gatherings will continue to be held in open, well-ventilated spaces. It will be with physical distancing among participants.
- We will continue to use our established areas for pick-ups & deliveries. There will be limiting contact to the extent as possible.
- When a situation arises that physical distancing cannot be maintained such as assisting a child zipping their coat or changing a diaper, then personnel will wear face covering. Our walking rope for children will be doubled in length thereby students will be with physical distance.
- We will maintain physical distance with our students’ families, visitors and amongst staff including during shift changes. When not able, face coverings will be worn.
- Employers will be provided acceptable free face coverings as its supply will be maintained, and is purchased from an array of stores selling them in downtown Flushing.
- Staff will receive a copy of this plan 7/31st/20. This plan will be accessible hard copy within the classroom always.
- Sharing objects and surfaces will be limited. Washing hands or sanitizing them will continue to be done before and after contact. Some objects such as broom handle, light switches, door knobs & learning materials used will be cleaned daily.
- All staff, and students clean regularly and in both shifts daily using classroom and restroom sinks where signs are posted. Ample supply of cleaning tools are always maintained and which are effective against cv. We continue to remind each other about our regular cleaning practices.
- As in Infectious Disease course required by DOHMH for Childcare training, we continue to use labeled bottles with water and Chlorax bleach solution sprays for contaminated areas with a solution having less Chlorax bleach for regular cleaning. This cleaning agent is purchased at local stores.
- We will have signs reminding physical distance and face coverings.
- We will continue to use our visitors book in sound-alarmed entrance hall given by the employer who greets the guest(s) here.
- Employees and students’ families will be informed continually to temperature check themselves daily before arriving to COF. If one is sick including if with cv, we will do what we regularly do: pray for them, inform their contacts, and not permit them to return till their health is restored.
